Okay, get this: I am standing in the middle of a cornfield. I am holding a hoe. As my mom said when we were setting off to work in the field, we are farmers now.

Blog continues on…

There are now about five posting on the Little Blog blog. I’m seeing them up there and wishing I could go in with a big fat red sharpie and slim them down. I have figured out how to talk about Slipping, how I feel about the passages I revisit at readings. I understand the general repertoire of reactions the book gets from teens and adults. For Little Blog, it’s all a big mystery.

The next time I read from it I’m going to sit down and find a more dramatic passage.

Gen’s Blog is LIVE!

My new book, Little Blog on the Prairie, comes out in a month, and for fun, I’ve written up the blog that is such a huge part of the book. It’s gone live TODAY. I am really excited about this and hope that you will check it out at

It’s also on Facebook (Gen Prairie) and twitter.com/LittleBontheP.
