Dear Readers:

Thanks for coming to my website! I hope you’re here because you read Slipping. It’s my first published novel, and I’m very excited to find out what readers think. If you want to check out a little bit of the book, I've put an excerpt up here.

This fall, I'm traveling around speaking to kids about the book, mostly at schools. I met 700 kids in the Boston area in three days and was so happy to find out what smart, curious readers are out there. If you'd like me to come visit your school, send me an email! I'm thinking of adding a FAQ to this site to answer some of the most common questions I was asked.

In a few days, I'm leaving for Washington, DC, where I'll meet with more kids. I was surprised by how many kids asked me to tell them my ghost story, and whether or not I really do believe in ghosts.

Slipping did not happen to me. But I did love all my grandparents, and wish I could see them again. On this website, I’ll tell you why I wrote Slipping, and all about how I started to write. But mostly, I want to hear from you. Please drop me a line.

P.S. Some of Slipping is true. At least, the part about ghosts  sometimes seeming real. I know from personal experience.
